August Hoosier Pen Club

Indianapolis is home to a burgeoning pen club, aptly named the Hoosier Pen Club, spearheaded by my good friend Davy Chinn (@davychinn). We meet every two to three months in grand fashion, usually at our local Greek’s Pizzeria for pizza, beer and pens! This August, we had our first club meeting with invaders from other states! We were so thrilled to welcome @HeyMatthew from South Carolina and Blakemore (@Mostly_pens) and John Albert (@Jalbertlawrence) from Kentucky. Matthew actually came to record with us for the Leaky Nib Podcast and did his episodes earlier that day before more pen shenanigans ensued that evening. If you’re interested in joining us, join our Facebook group, Hoosier Pen Club, for scheduling updates. We’d love to have you, whether you’re local or an honorary Hoosier just visiting!

Here’s a quick peek into what the HPC looks like!

Pizza and pens make for fun meets at Greeks!

HeyMatthew taught Abby (@theladylemur) some tips and tricks for folded nib calligraphy!

Local HPC aficionado Doug tempts us with many beautiful things but here he found something to tempt him!

The HPC boasts several pen-makers, seen here KY John Albert talks shop with Spencer of Fringewood Pens.

HeyMatthew, the master of the folded nib, at work.

John, my Leaky Nib cohost and owner of Lemur Ink, joked about taking orders by phone, HAM radio, and morse code.
